The owners of this Hancock Park English Revival wanted to create an outdoor living space with a pool and spa that was comfortable, practical, and most importantly fit in with the style of house.
The pool is long enough for swimming laps, and the addition of a bench along one entire side of the pool allows the family and guests to be in either the pool or spa and easily converse with each other. There is also plenty of room around the pool to lounge on chaises.
An outdoor sitting area around a new fireplace and pergola is perfect for a cool evening. Details were copied from the front of the house for the opening of the fireplace as well as using clinker bricks, therefore the structure appears to have been built at the same time as the main house. The ends of the pergola also have the same detail as the front eaves.
A large eating area with built-in BBQ, side burner, refrigerator, and ice maker was created near the family room and kitchen so the family could enjoy outdoor dining.
